large church was packed to capacity with all the pupils, staff and members of various associations, well wishes and benefactor.
Sister Francis, Sister Antoinette, Mrs Lydia Fernando and Miss Consy Muller, assisted by prefects, the offertory procession to the altar during Mass, at which the choir performed splendidly.
The floral arrangements by Miss Elva Gonsal, who must easily be over 90 years old now, were beautiful, as they always were when she did the flowers for the church in the days of her youth.
Mass was followed by a cultural show in the Cathedral Square and a procession led be the Principal and Head Girl, to the accompaniment of
four school bands along Wasala Road and back to the Convent.
The unfurling of the National, Papal and School flags then took place, followed by the unveiling of a picture of the Founders of the School, Sister Euphrasy, in the School hall and culmination in a get together and jubilee lunch.
A"7" porcelain plate carrying the picture of the Mother Founders was distributed as a memento to invitees on this occasion.
